Spiritual Connextions Awards 2008

Over the week-end of September 5th & 6th, I was honoured & privileged to be invited to take part in the Spiritual Connextions Awards, competing in the Open Platform Competition which took place in the Portsmouth Guildhall.

This was a remarkable event in the fact that it was an X-Factor style contest and we were tested in front of a panel of prestigious judges.

Unlike other awards which are based on the amount of votes received, this was a full blown competition to test the skill and ability of the participants who were competing against each other. It was a very nail-biting affair, with the judges scoring the competitors aptitude and capability, as well as assessing them across a wide range of expertise and proficiency.

Out of the 360 initial entrants of the competition, I completed the qualifying heats to become the only female in the final.

The judges for the final were: 
Tony Stockwell - The Street Psychic.

Steven Upton - Minister of the SNU.

Richard Blair - Owner of Spiritual Connextions.

Katy Evans - Editor of Soul & Spirit magazine.

Following the mediumship demonstrations of the final, the judges checked the exactness of the information that the mediums relayed; the message recipients were also asked to give their opinions to the relevance of the information.  It was confirmed that I achieved an accuracy rate of well over 90%.

Resulting from the judges final scoring across all categories; I was then elated and honoured to be announced runner-up to the two joint winners.

The weekend was a great success; I was delighted to take part in such an event as it helped to promote the highest quality of demonstrating spirit communication. The camaraderie of the weekend saw new friendships flourish and the rekindling of old acquaintances. The accompanying spiritual fayre was also deemed a great success with exhibitors attending from across the UK

This prestigious event has the potential to be the building blocks of a new spiritual community, which has the promise to educate the general public about spiritualism and spirituality.
